I am Marie Wright. For the past 11 years I have been an elementary, middle, and high school art teacher. In January 2026 I heard the words I never could have prepared for: “It’s cancer”. Using my background in art, I began to process this news through making artwork that reflects my journey in raw expression, not perfection. I am currently in active treatment for colorectal cancer. I hope you’ll be encouraged and enlightened by my words and artwork.
